Driving stress is real. Feeling fearful behind the wheel is so common that a large number of drivers around the world experience it. Some people worry every time they drive. Others can be triggered by certain incidents. There could be some personal issues, an upcoming deadline, and the fear of being late due to a traffic jam. Whatever it is, you have to learn to control your emotions, at least when you are behind the wheels.
Driving requires a
certain amount of calm to protect yourself and other people on the road. Your emotions should not be so high that they cause illogical reactions.

Here are some tips to relax while driving:

Plan your daily routes.
Driving at peak times causes many people to lose their coolness because nobody likes to get stuck in traffic,especially when you are caught up in lagos traffic. This is not surprising since you may have seen many drivers honking their car horns or yelling while waiting for the green light to come on.
To avoid the insanity of rush hours, you need to plan your routes to avoid congested areas. It can also be helpful to leave 15 minutes to half an hour earlier or take another, less crowded street. If possible, try running your daily commute at slightly different times of the day.
Never drive if you are too emotional.
Negative emotions such as anger and sadness distract us, which is a serious problem when you are on the go. You may be too busy if you have to concentrate on driving. Don't go out when you're exhausted. You may fall asleep behind the wheels or be too tired to respond quickly in an emergency.

Turn on some music.

Music has a wonderfully calming effect on our nerves. Setting your favorite music can help relieve stress and calm your mind. Music is also a mood enhancer. So if you are sad or disturbed for any reason, it works like therapy. You can also listen to an audio-book or podcast session instead of listening to songs if that works for you.

Take some deep breaths.
Inhale deeply through your nose and exhale through your mouth. This technique stretches your lungs by sending a large amount of air to the diaphragm. Park the car in a safe place and perform this breathing technique at least 10 times. It may be surprising to relax your body and calm your mind.

An age-old method, but it works when you are too stressed or overwhelmed. Deep breathing in and out is called diaphragmatic breathing, which helps bring the heartbeat back to normal rhythm.
Driving stress can strain your body and mind. Managing it regularly means living with constant fear that can leave you physically uncomfortable and in a state of unrest. So you should follow these de-stressing methods to get your concentration back on the road.
