2020 Mercedes GLC 350e Plug-In Hybrid (Photos and Details)

The Mercedes-Benz GLC class has been updated recently, so it makes sense that all variants are refreshed. In addition to the SUV and Coupé basic versions, the AMG variants of both body styles provide a refresher, and now comes the new version of the pluggable, the GLC 350e.

Like the rest of the range, the 2020 GLC plug-in hybrid is slightly redesigned from the front and rear, upgraded from the
inside, and sees the acquisition of the new MBUX infotainment system from Mercedes - complete with the digital assistant functionality.

The battery pack was expanded from 8.7 kWh to 13.5 kWh. The old GLC plug-in refilled its batteries via a 3.6 kW on-board charger. However, the new version features a 7.4 kW device that allows the charge to be replenished with electrons in less than eight hours at a standard 120 volt level 1 / household plug. Using a level 2  240-volt source can recharge the battery 80 percent in just over two hours.

Other changes include a new steering wheel with capacitive buttons to control larger interior cluster and center console screens, standard LED headlamps and tail-lights, and the latest Mercedes driver assistant technologies, including the Active Lane Change Assistant.

About this gas engine. It's a 2.0-liter turbocharged four-cylinder that delivers 208 horsepower and 258 lb-ft of torque. It is complemented by a more powerful electric motor, which is now designed for 121 hp and 325 lb-ft. Together, the system can add 315 horsepower and 516 lb-ft, and this power is routed to the pavement as standard via 4Matic four-wheel drive. The sprint from 0 to 60 miles per hour should take 5.6 seconds, about half a tick faster than before. The power-train now includes a nine-speed automatic transmission instead of the seven-speed version of the previous version.

Mercedes is known for its stability, durabilty and it's Classic look.
