New 2020 Honda Civic Type R Revealed;Offers New Features

The Civic Type R starts the 2020 model year with some changes, some of which are more significant than others. Honda revised the suspension and brakes, modified the design inside and out, and added standard driver assistance functions - although we didn't really miss them in such a driver-oriented car at first.

Shown here is the 2020 Type R in its new exterior color Boost Blue, which reminds us of the blue hue that the Honda modifier Spoon often uses. You can also see the 2020 model thanks to the larger grille opening that is designed to support engine cooling. Inside, the steering wheel is now wrapped in imitation suede and the gear lever has a
different design and shorter throws.

Performance improvements include new brake discs and pads to reduce fading, revised suspension with optimized dampers, stiffer rear bushings and unspecified changes to the front suspension to improve steering feel.

We usually don't mind if high-performance cars like this don't offer driver assistance features, but Honda has decided to add the Honda Sensing package as standard anyway. That means the 2020 Civic Type R now has functions such as forward collision warning, lane departure warning and automatic emergency braking.
