The 2020 Ford Expedition Adds Off-road Chops



Ford now offers its FX4 off-road package in the 2020 Expedition Limited and XLT versions for those who wish to take the seven-passenger SUV on some off-road adventures. It will be available both in the standard Expedition wheelbase and in the longest Expedition Max wheelbase.

Standard equipment in
the FX4 package includes 32-inch all-terrain tyres, off-road shock absorbers, a limited-slip electronic rear differential, chrome stirrups and FX4 badges inside and out. There are seven sliding plates installed, one of which is a newly designed sand shield to protect intercoolers. There are also steel slide plates that protect the steering mechanism, engine, transmission and transfer case, along with a separate extra long slide plate to protect the fuel tank.

The FX4 Expedition is powered by a 3.5-liter V-6 engine with a 375 hp dual turbocharger, combined with a 10-speed automatic transmission along with an electronic two-wheel drive system and a terrain management system. The standard Expedition Limited Fx4 wheelbase has a towing capacity of 9200 pounds.

The FX4 package includes a 360-degree camera with split view; There is also a package without the camera in the lower level XLT setting.
