7 Fantastic Ways To Keep Your Old Car Running Strong

Change your oil and oil filter frequently:

The best you can do to extend the life of your engine is the regular oil change. Otherwise, there may be many problems with the engine over time. Although any workshop that changes its oil can also change the filter, you need to make sure that it is cared for in one way or another. Be sure to make a note of the date and mileage after every oil change to let
you know when your vehicle is due for another one.

Replace transmission fluid and differential oil:

This is not often required. However, if you are concerned, refer to your vehicle manual for the suggested time frames for changing them.

Fill with new coolant:

From time to time you need to flush out your coolant and top up with some fresh coolant. Also in the instruction manual of your vehicle the suggested intervals are indicated.
Maintain your wheel bearings:

Wheel bearings are vital because they ensure smooth running of the tyres. When checking in for your next vehicle inspection, be sure to ask for a wheel test to see if your bearings are in good condition. Normally, the bearings only need to be lubricated with some grease to work properly again.

Change your brake fluid:

This protects against moisture and ensures that your brakes are free of rust and corrosion. So you need to periodically change your brake fluid.

Protect the interior from strong sunlight:

Your interior can be lit by the sun day after day, especially in warm climates. It is recommended to park in the shade if possible or to use a sunscreen to keep your interior fresh and new.

Wipe off dirt:

When driving in a cold climate, you may be aware of the salt that sticks to the floor of your vehicle. Make sure you remove everything and any other debris before washing it. Otherwise, paint damage may occur.
